Swaggerbots, Transform!

I watched Transformers: Dark of the Moon last night with Ro_Ja and I was really surprised to find the Ferrari 458 Italia as part of the Autobot lineup, considering the two other movies in the past featured Autobots that used American cars as their cover. It may have had a small part in the movie, but I could not keep my eyes off that car every time it was being shown.

I was also really surprised that they showed a Maybach 62S Landaulet and a Mercedes SLS AMG in the movie. Then again, in the last movie, they featured a Decepticon Audi R8, only to be sliced in half moments later. In this film however, the SLS was a (*SPOILER ALERT* Decepticon) but actually had more screen time than the R8 of the last film. Needless to say, I think America still hates the Germans, save for the Maybach coming out of the film unharmed. Political undertones? Meh. I won’t dive into it. Then again, Italy did join the Axis powers first in WWII but turned into a co-belligerent with the Allies midway (damn Italians and their wishy-washyness (sp?) through the war up until the end.) I’ll stop there 😀

I show no hatred towards the Italians (or Germans), but I found it appropriate, then, to post pics of the 458. Not 1, not 2, but 3 458s riding together. Ah you see what I did there? Transformers 3? 3 458s? Yeah, I went there.

Up until the film’s release, many people speculated that the modified and beaten up Datsun 510 would be Bumblebee’s new cover, but alas, America loves their muscle cars, and it turned out the 510 was only there for a comedic effect. Super lame.

You know, to be fair, I may as well post pics of the other cars that I mentioned.

Maybach 62S Landaulet

The car costs $1.2 million dollars. Damn, it better be a smooth ride and should come with its own chauffeur and hot model…

Oh Transformers, just another excuse to show the world the cars that we normal people cannot attain in this lifetime…

P.S. Ken Jeong (aka Mr. Chow from Hangover I/II) was HILARIOUS in the movie.
